LLACE is a Community Space
We frequently get requests to use the space for community groups, events, event series, special projects, and other rad projects our community is working on. On this page, you’ll find a mix of events hosted by the Lavender Library and others held at the library but hosted by other community groups.

Practicing Queer & Trans Abolition Discussion Series
This four-part mini-discussion series will explore how queer and trans abolitionist practices provide us with strategies for survival, collective care, and community. We will read and discuss chapters from the recently published anthology, Surviving the Future: Abolitionist Queer Strategies. We will also be joined by local activists to discuss the connections between queer/trans politics, anti-policing, and anti-carceral grassroots organizing. Calling all crafters! The Lavender Library hosts a monthly Queer Crafternoon, a fun and creative afternoon of arts and crafts for all ages. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own.
This group meets monthly on the first and third Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
FTM Sacramento Support Group
FTM Sacramento is a support group for Female-to-Male transgender, transmasculine, gender non-conforming & questioning people.
This group meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
GenderQuark
Gender Quark is the Lavender Library and Gender Health Center’s gender non-binary group. Meet your non-binary/trans/genderqueer peers and discuss topics that affect our community.
Please note: this is a closed group for individuals identifying as non-binary and/or trans and/or genderqueer. Allies are encouraged to connect with other local groups for support.

Join us at the library the 2nd Sunday each month from 3:00 - 4:30 PM for the four-part Fall discussion series covering research on queer access to healthcare.
Banned Book Club
The monthly book club will feature a book that has been banned recently and features LGBTQ+ themes. We cannot wait to dig into these powerful stories with you that highlight the complexities of LGBTQ+ lives.

Bi+Pan Sacramento
Bi+Pan Sacramento is a group dedicated to creating a vibrant, positive, safe, and inclusive community for anyone who experiences more than one pattern of attraction or attraction to more than one gender.
Regardless of gender identity, cultural background, past experiences, or relationship status, you are welcome!

Author Event with Parisa Akhbari
Join the author of Just Another Epic Love Poem for a conversation and book signing. The book will be available for purchase at the Lavender Library.
Queer Harm Reduction Series
From poppers to parTies, queer people have unique drug and sex cultures. These cultures are rarely represented in public education curriculums, and it can be hard to find accurate and stigma free information.

Queer Writers Salon
This monthly meetup will focus on creating a space for queer writers to work on their own projects independently but within the community, providing protected writing time in a world that makes it hard to carve that time out for ourselves. Body double with buddies and pour your little heart out onto paper/Google Docs.
